Responsible Gambling

Last updated: September 11, 2026

We build tools for fans who enjoy props and sports betting for entertainment. That only works if it stays fun and stays in control. This page explains how to keep it that way and where to get help if it stops being fun.

Need help now? Call or text the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-522-4700), available 24/7 and confidential, or chat at ncpgambling.org. If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988. You must be 21 or older to bet in most states.

What Propaholics is (and isn't)

Propaholics is an informational and entertainment product. We publish statistical projections, matchup data, rankings, and AI-generated write-ups for player props and other markets. We are not a sportsbook, we do not accept bets or handle wagers, and nothing here is a prediction of an actual outcome or advice to place any bet. Our numbers are estimates and can be wrong. Any betting decision, and any money you risk, is entirely your own.

Our name is a play on being obsessed with prop research. It is not an endorsement of betting more than you can afford, or of betting as a way to make money. Treat wagering as paid entertainment, like a ticket or a subscription, never as income or a way to recover losses.

The ground rules

  • You must be of legal betting age where you live, typically 21 or older.
  • Sports betting is not legal in every state. Know the law where you are.
  • Only bet money you can afford to lose, and set that budget before you start.
  • Set time and deposit limits, and stick to them.
  • Never chase losses, and never bet to escape stress, boredom, or a bad day.
  • Don’t bet under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Keep betting separate from money you need for rent, bills, food, or family.

Know the warning signs

Gambling may be becoming a problem if you, or someone you care about, notice any of these:

  • Betting more money or more often than you intended.
  • Chasing losses by trying to win it back.
  • Borrowing money, selling things, or lying to fund or hide betting.
  • Betting money meant for bills or essentials.
  • Feeling restless, irritable, or anxious when trying to cut back.
  • Betting affecting your work, sleep, mood, or relationships.
  • Feeling unable to stop even when you want to.

If any of these sound familiar, it’s worth reaching out. Help is free, confidential, and effective, and asking for it is a sign of strength.

Tools to stay in control

Every licensed sportsbook is required to offer responsible-gambling tools. If you bet, use them:

  • Deposit, wager, and time limits.
  • Reality checks and session reminders.
  • Cooling-off periods and self-exclusion, which block your access for a set time.

Many states also run a self-exclusion program that covers every licensed operator in the state. Your state’s gaming or lottery regulator can point you to it. You can also ask us to close your Propaholics account anytime by emailing support@propaholics.app.

Protecting minors

Betting is for adults only. Propaholics is not intended for anyone under 21, and we do not knowingly market to minors. If you share a device, keep your logins and any sportsbook apps secured, and consider parental controls to keep betting content away from anyone underage.

If gambling stops being fun, stop. It should never feel like a job, a fix, or the only way out of a hole. Call or text 1-800-GAMBLER. 21+. Please bet responsibly. For our full terms, see the Terms of Service.
