Pick the Slot chip on the Defense view and the table ranks all 32 defenses by targets, receptions, yards per game, and touchdowns allowed to the slot. Rank 1 in green allows the most. The same view covers wide, inline tight end, and backfield alignments.
It is the percentage of a receiver's routes run from each spot: out wide, in the slot, inline, or from the backfield. A player with a heavy slot share mostly sees slot defenders, so his matchup is the defense's slot coverage rather than its overall pass defense.
Two receivers on the same team can face completely different matchups. If a defense leaks yards to the slot but locks down the perimeter, the slot receiver's receiving props carry the favorable matchup while the outside receiver's do not. Alignment pinpoints which player actually benefits.
Two seasons are available: the current season aggregated to date, refreshed as new games are charted, and the most recent full regular season as a stable reference. The source has no weekly split, so each view is an aggregate. Early in the season the samples are small; use the full-season view for role context, then confirm current usage on the player pages and the prop board before acting on a number.
